Tender Narratives Club
A collaborative platform for creating and sharing narrative string figures,
where each figure is contributed by a different participant,
weaving together a collective story through interconnected visual and textual elements.
About
(Metaphor)
String Figures are one of the oldest forms of play in the world: a quiet, creative conversation made with nothing but a loop of string and two pairs of hands.
In some places, it’s a children’s game. In others, it’s a form of storytelling, a way to pass knowledge. Wherever it’s found, the heart of it is the same:
Two people, creating something together, one move at a time. One player shapes a figure with the string and offers it across. The other receives it, transforms it, and passes it back. There’s no winner. No final destination. Only a shared thread growing, changing, alive between them.
This project is born from that spirit: Inviting you to pick up a thread, pass it along, and see what you can weave together.
(Inter-Action)
The roles of holding (preserving, listening, supporting) and acting (intervening, changing, developing) alternate constantly. This means that everyone involved is sometimes in an active, creative and sometimes in a mindful, supportive position. This rhythmic interplay creates a collective work that does not “belong” to one person, but is the result of a joint movement.
The first offers something:
a note, a sound, a drawing, a spark.
The other picks it up, shapes it, sends it back.
repeat
No plan. No pressure.
One move at a time.
A conversation made of joint movements.
